Recently I’ve come across much discussion about a Central Florida non-profit organization, Thrive Clermont, with the goal of empowering teens in Central Florida through skill-building, socialization, and mentoring programs offered all year round for healthy youth development.
Thrive Clermont was formed in 2015 by Sheri Lewin to provide enrichment programming for any teens age 13-17 in the greater south lake region. Programs at Thrive Clermont are informed through teens and community surveys, focus groups, and general research. Much of the program content is provided by local business owners and professionals volunteering their time to connect with and to mentor youth in the community. Thrive Clermont empowers teens to succeed. Below are some of the thrive Clermont’s projects:
Registration for Thrive Clermont’s Summer PopUps series has begun. It’s a great opportunity for teens to get out of the house, to learn a new skill, to meet new people every Tuesday this June. Dinner, dessert, and music will follow each Tuesday’s popup. There will be a wide variety of activities such as photography, culinary art, fine art, sign language, and teen trivia night. There is a registration fee. To register, please click HERE.
