Next Wednesday, February 6th, Congress is going to hold their first hearing on the universal background checks bill — and we *have to* make sure it passes.
Do your part. Tell Congress to pass universal background checks.
The bill is called the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, aka H.R. 8. and it will save lives.

It’s way easier to understand than NRA-backed politicians want you to think: Everyone who buys a gun should be vetted first. This bill will help to close loopholes that let people who shouldn’t have deadly firearms buy guns.Congress hasn’t passed gun violence prevention legislation in a generation. Tens of thousands of Americans are killed in gun deaths each year, and they’ve still. done. nothing. Making this bill a law is what we’ve been fighting for since our movement began.Now, because of you, this bill is at the top of Congress’s agenda. When we make our voices heard, we can change the entire country to be safer for all of us. But we can’t let up now.
