On the 27th day of partial government shutdown, BuzzFeed news dropped  an explosive report on Thursday, January 17, 2019,, alleging that:

• Trump told his personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in  Moscow, according to two federal officials involved in an investigation of the matter.
• Trump also supported a plan (set up by Cohen), to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the Trump Tower negotiations.

The sources said Trump told Cohen to “Make it happen.” even as Trump told the public he had no business deals with Russia. The source said Trump and his children, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., received regular and detailed updates about the real estate development from Cohen, whom they put in charge of the project.

 As Barbara McQuade indicated in the video above, if this report were true, it will be very serious for Donald Trump. This report is not only based on words of Michael Cohen but also based on witness testimonies of other witnesses as well as corroborating documents. If the allegation were true, the potential crimes of Subordination of perjury, witness tempering, and obstruction of justice. In addition to being a serious crime under the criminal code, it also lends a very strong argument for “high crimes and misdemeanors” for impeachment.
