As a result of the partial government shutdown, federal employees furloughed included the White House kitchen staff. Donald Trump’s fast-food catering came to the rescue when the White House was planning for banquet to celebrate Clemson University Tigers’ victory in this year’s N.C.A.A. football championship. On Monday, January 14, 2019, Donald Trump told the press in an interview, “I think we’re going to serve McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, with some pizza….I really mean it. It will be interesting. And I would think that’s their favorite food. So we’ll see what happens.” Henceforth, another first for the Trump administration, a fancy shindig serving assortment of fast-food ranging from Quarter Pounders, McNuggets, Filet-o-Fishes, to pizzas, Burger King fries, etc. served in silver trays. The question one should ask : how much longer will Donald Trump’s fast-food catering have to serve in future White House functions?
