Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, consistently denied that he was in Prague in 2016 or that he had ever visited the Czech Republic, even after a new report indicating that his cell phone was traced near the Eastern European city, potentially confirming a key part of the former British spy Christopher Steele’s dossier on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign.On Thursday, December 27, 2018, an investigative report citing four unnamed “people with knowledge of the matter” could place Cohen’s cell phone in Prague during the summer of 2016. The report also claimed that an Eastern European intelligence agency intercepted conversation among Russians, one of which mentioned that Cohen was in Prague. This new information regarding the recovery of Cohen’s cell phone location did not explain why he was there or who he was meeting, but it added to evidence that Cohen was in or near Prague around the time of the supposed meeting. Hours after this story was published, Cohen tweeted his denial.
