Are Birthright & Caravan Simply Distractions From National Debt & Healthcare?

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

It’s been brought to my attention that perhaps the reason why President Trump was bringing up “Trump Wants To Override U.S. Constitution With Executive Order” or “Migrant caravan: Trump suggests immigrants could be shot if they throw rocks at military” was to create distractions from the real issue of National Debt and healthcare.
Earlier this week, the Treasury Department announced that the U.S. deficit has ballooned to $779 billion. Stephanie Ruhle breaks down how the GOP tax cuts and increased spending are pushing the country deeper into debt. Policy advisor with America First Policy Andrew Puzder and former New Jersey Senator Bob Torricelli join the conversation, in the video “Budget Deficit Hits Highest Level In 6 Years After Tax Cuts” below:
Below, the video on “The National Debt Explained by Richard D. Wolff“:
According to a new estimate released by the Treasury Department on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, the U.S. federal government will issue more than $1.3 trillion in debt in 2018, the highest total debt issuance since the depth of the Great Recession. Such ballooning debt load is resulting from newly passed legislation, including the GOP tax reform law and the bipartisan budget deal. In recent months, Republican leaders have pointed to the growing deficit as the reason for needing to cut entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security. Democrats, on the other hand, prefer to reverse some provisions of the GOP tax law to increase revenue and to close the gap that way. Most Americans would prefer Congress dealing with the deficit and debt by reversing the tax law’s cuts rather than reducing spending on entitlements, according to early polling.
With the midterms quickly approaching, Donald Trump is trying out some new lies, many having to do with the migrant caravan and an imaginary tax cut for the middle class, in the video “Trump Paints A False Portrait of the Migrant Caravan” with Stephen Colbert below:
At this point, I’d like to share a TED talk. Nick Hanauer is a rich guy, an unrepentant capitalist — and he has something to say to his fellow plutocrats: Wake up! Growing inequality is about to push our societies into conditions resembling pre-revolutionary France. Hear his argument about why a dramatic increase in minimum wage could grow the middle class, deliver economic prosperity … and prevent a revolution, in the video “Beware, fellow autocrats, the pitchforks are coming” below:
