Few nights ago, after hubby and I had worked long hours on our respective projects, we were both hungry and in the mood for a taste of a new restaurant. Few minutes of surfing online and great reviews brought us to the attention of Beijing Tokyo, an Asian Fusion and Japanese restaurant at 16112 Marsh Rd. #413, Winter Garden, FL 34787, 407-654-3800, that opened on Monday-Saturday (11:00 am-10:00 pm) and Sunday (noon-10:00 pm). In addition to dine-in, Beijing Tokyo also do delivery (within 5 miles radius and order of $25 or more, and $2.00 fuel charge) and take-out. Note: Google’s estimated waiting time for this place was between 25-65 minutes, but when I called the restaurant, manager indicated that there were plenty of open tables available.
In about 15 minute-drive from Windermere, FL, we arrived at Beijing Tokyo, appearing dark from the outside. But upon entering the premise, the place turned out to be bright, clean, quiet, and very relaxing.

I wondered if such tranquility was due to the colorful waterfall wall at the entrance. Perhaps such a wall was able to block out the ebbing stress and strifes of the current political climate, leaving us with momentary peace and tranquility to savor our meals. The interior of the restaurant is simple, clean, and comfortable, perfectly suited for a family restaurant.
We ordered a variety of dishes, from Seaweed Salad,Avocado Salad, General Tso’s Chicken, to Pepper Beef, AAC (Astragalus-Avocado-Cucumber) Rolls, and Pineapple Fried Rice. Every dish was prepared by some one who took care and pride in his/her craft. The tenderness of the meat was just right and none of the dishes was overly smothered with heavy sauce. The tea was lightly fragrant and service attentive. While we were enjoying our meal, about ten different people came in to pick up their orders. They all seem to be regulars, attesting to the consistent and excellent quality of the food.
At the end of this pleasant meal, my body felt light and well nourished, a definite sign of fresh quality and good cooking. I am sure that we will return on future dates and try some udon, sushi, and lomein. It’s always a delight to be able to help support a local family business.
