Mega Millions Madness Sweeping the Nation
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
I had to run to the local Publix grocery store to get some bananas tonight. Surprisingly after 9:30 p.m., the parking lot was full and upon entering the store, there was an unusually long line at the service counter. It was not until at the checkout, I found out the reason for such a long line at the service counter: the upcoming Mega Millions drawing will happen tonight, Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11:00 pm ET. To confirm result of the final drawing, please click HERE.
The video below was filmed before the Mega Millions reached $1 billion, nevertheless, the sentiment behind “What to do if you win the lottery” remained true as the value of the drawing climb upward:
As it turned out, when the Mega Millions numbers (3-45-49-61-69-9) were drawn on Tuesday night, no one claimed the grand prize of the $667 million. So, the drawing for tonight will feature an all record high of Mega Millions jackpot estimated at $1 billion. Keep in mind that $1 billion may be a huge sum, but it wouldn’t be the biggest lottery prize in U.S. history. Apparently the Powerball jackpot of January 2016 reached nearly $1.6 billion, the biggest Powerball jackpot in history as well as the highest lottery grand prize in the U.S. history.
Mega Millions is a lottery available at 44 states (excluding AK, AL, HI, MS, NV, UT), Washington D.C.and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets are sold at $2 each. There are nine ways to win prizes, ranging from $2 to the jackpot. The odds of winning some prize from Mega Million are 1 in 24. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.

Unfortunately or fortunately, no one has won. So the current projection for the next drawing, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at 11:00 pm ET, may be some where around $1.6 billion.
