Republican Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska explains why Supreme Court nomination process has become a substitute for political battleground on Tuesday in his opening statement at Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing, in the video “WATCH: Supreme Court cannot become a “substitute political battleground,” Sen. Turbulence and controversy are expected when the president who has consistently demonstrated contempt for rule of law would nominate Brett Kavanaugh, a judge who has taken the unorthodox position that presidents should not be burdened with criminal or civil investigation while in office. Furthermore, in addition to incomplete review of received documents, about 100,000 pages of documents regarding Brett Kavanaugh’s tenure during George W. Bush administration are withheld from the Senate. According to Senator Kamala Harris, only 4% of the documents pertaining to Judge Brett Kavanaugh is made available to public. So the question is: What is the rush and why withholding these documents? Details of the incomplete evaluation of all documentations may be viewed in the third video below with Senator Cory Booker. This nomination is extremely critical for future determination of: Americans’ health, women’s right to decide for their bodies, integrity of the Presidency of the United States, and disparity of wealth. Great care and evaluation need to be placed for the consideration of Supreme Court Justice nominee. Sen. Cory Booker urged Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday to recuse himself from the hearing on his nomination to the Supreme Court. In his opening statement, Booker wondered whether Kavanaugh and the Supreme Court would protect the rights of workers, women and racial minorities, as well as the rights of Americans with disabilities and health conditions. He also asked again what the harm was in waiting for the Senate Judiciary Committee to review 42,000 pages of recently-released documents on Kavanaugh’s record, in the video “Watch: Sen. Sen. Kamala Harris said Tuesday that partisanship and a long-held conservative agenda drives Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s decisions. Harris said she is concerned that Kavanaugh’s loyalty will “be to the president who appointed him and not to the Constitution” and questioned whether he will be able to treat every American equally.
