Difficult SunPass System Upgrade Transition
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
As a result of problematic system upgrade of SunPass, some Florida drivers may had been experiencing some headaches. On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, the FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) announced that it had cleared the entire backlog of SunPass toll transactions resulting from messy system upgrade and had fined the vendor in charge of overseeing this transition. The FDOT assessed the Conduent State & Local Solutions nearly $800,000 in damages as a result of this difficult rollout of its new SunPass Centralized Customer Service System. The agency had also requested an investigation by the Office of the Chief Inspector General into Conduent’s failures and mismanagement of the SunPass system transition. Now that the upgrade is over, The FDOT announced on Thursday, August 16, 2018, that FDOT will reimburse overdraft expense fees from banks that may have accrued during the transition period. According to WFTV, during the upgrade, backlogged transactions were posted, causing banks to charge the fees. So if you want to get your money back, you can fax a claim to FDOT at 1-888-265-1725 or mail the claim to the address below:
