This is a message for all of my friends and acquaintances who may have become discouraged, saddened, angered, or apathetic about much that had happened during this past year. Whenever I’ve become discouraged, I would seek out the energy and those who would share the belief in the founding principles of our country, a place that was once the beacon for refugees and immigrants, a place that was founded on the belief that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness“, a place that valued rule of law and due process.  It is with the desire to fuel  my spirit, to want to be ensured that America is still a country where people believe in such ideals that I arrived in front of the Orlando City Hall, 400 S. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32801, on a raining Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2018, to report about “Families Belong Together” event.

Despite the inclement weather, I saw about 500 Central Floridians, of various age, racial,  and religious groups, braving the rain and carrying their signs, shouting out their demand for:

1.  ending family separation policy
2.  ending ICE (Immigration and Custom Enforcement,  not to be confused with INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) that ceased to exist on March 1, 2003)
3.  making sure that American people are registered to vote
4.  making sure that American people will vote

These 500 people showed up in front of the Orlando City Hall, with cars and trucks showing their support for this demonstration by honking as they drove by. These people were clear about their message and what they want to see changed. Below, allow me to share with you every single one of the people (unedited) I’ve come across who have agreed to a short interview of two main questions, in the video below:

1. Why are you here today?
2. What do you hope to accomplish and see changed or happen?

With the help of these people, I felt hopeful and energized once again, for the future of this bold experiment of mankind on planet earth needs to be continually fueled by active participation of those who believe in its founding principles, rule of law, and due process. And may we all come together to ensure the freedom, liberty, justice, equality, and humanity to continue to be celebrated in this country of ours. It is clear that these Central Floridians want to see Congress end the family separation policy and to see all fellow Americans to register to vote and actually vote.
