NRA Challenges Florida’s New Gun Control Law
Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Florida State Governor Rick Scott signed the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act into law, which raises the age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, requires a three-day waiting period for most gun purchases, and bans the sale or possession of “bump stocks”. An hour later, the NRA filed a lawsuit complaining that the law violates the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution, governing the the right to bear arms. NRA also argues that the bill breaches the 14th amendment’s equal protection clause by banning gun purchase by law-abiding citizens between age 18-21.
Governor Rick Scott, a Republican and staunch ally of the gun lobby, said, “Today should serve as an example to the entire country that government can and must move fast.”

In the 21st century, would a band of militia-person, equipped with semi-automatic or full-automatic, be able to rise up against a team of tanks or missiles?
