Celebrating Lily Liu’s 2017 Birthday at Hong Kong Alley’s Kitchen of Orlando
Dear Friends & Neighbors,

This week, hubby and I attended a very special celebration organized by one of our readers and friend, Helen Yin Starkweather, for her wonderful mother, Lily Liu‘s birthday. We all gathered around 5:30 pm on Thursday at the Hong Kong Alley’s Kitchen, 10663 East Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL 32817, 407-969-0886. It was a group of family and friends from different parts of the country, getting together to celebrate Lily’s reaching another milestone of health and happiness. It was quite comforting to be among the Eastern way of reverence and respect for the elderly and the adorable way that every one was trying to wait for others to be seated first. Even though many of us have just met for the first time, the conversation at our table was a mixture of Mandarin and English, with topics ranging from arts, energy, regulations on businesses, to environment and comedy. We ate, drank, sang, and chatted late into the night. Helen thought of every details from laser-cut name cards for each and every one of us and hand-wipes in case we ended up with sticky fingers. Hong Kong Alley’s Kitchen manager/owner was very accommodating to all of the guests and did a fantastic job selecting the banquet menu items. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes throughout the night.
