Southwest Floridians, Be Prepared For Hurricane Irma

As of 5:00 am, Tuesday morning (Sep. 5, 2017), Hurricane Irma has been reported to have maximum sustained wind speed at 150 mph and is moving West at 14 mph. Southwest Florida is in Hurricane Irma’s cone of concern and preparations should be taken now for the possibility of a major hurricane impacting Southwest Florida.
Please keep in mind that forecast cones change based on storm movements and incoming data. As time has gone on, every one from the Gulf coast of Florida to the Carolina coast need to monitor this storm carefully.
It is anticipated that the greater impact of Irma will hit in the Southwest Florida area late in the upcoming weekend toward Sunday.
Governor Scott has already declared State of Emergency to prepare for Hurricane Irma on Monday, Sep. 4, 2017. Please pay attention to the preparations mentioned in the report below:
