There is a silver lining in the aftermath of Charlottesville incident: we have seen that the whole country have come together to demand higher moral standard from our leader. Americans of the 21st century have learned much from the past and are not afraid to make such demand of their President. They are not afraid to speak the truth to the power. We do have hope as a nation, and as a people in the future. This is the nation on earth where equality for all and justice for all may exist. This is the nation on earth where its citizens do not fear to strive toward that goal.
In order to insure that our future generations will continue to strive toward that ideal, we need to take a look at where our future generation will be educated and spend most of their time. So I’ve taken the liberty of photographing and video recording a visit at Windermere High School (at 5523 Winter Garden Vineland Rd., Windermere, FL 34786, 407-992-0977 or 407-347-0980) on the Open Campus/Schedule Pick-Up Day, August 10, 2017.
Please feel free to view and share the view of the campus site and introduction with two of the social studies teachers, Ms. Kristin Krushner and Mrs. Tammy Delgado at Windermere High School.
Ms. Kushner is a well-organized and enthusiastic teacher who is excited about her new teaching position at Windermere High School. She believes in providing a comfortable, stimulating, and homey learning experience for her students. Upon entering her classroom, one would immediately detect the light aroma suggestive of a pleasant environment. I believe Ms. Kushner’s students will enjoy learning from her. If you prefer to hear Ms. Kushner without any background music, please feel free to view the video below:
Mrs. Delgado is very excited about starting at this new school. She has enlightened us to the fact that Windermere High School is a completely digital school, with all text material available online via Pearson Publishing, via laptops. Students no longer have to carry heavy books in their backpacks, as their parents needed to decades ago. Students would choose the tract of their interests starting in 9th grade. If you prefer to hear Ms. Delgado without any background music, please feel free to view the video below:
Even before the school officially began the first semester, there had been various school activities planned. Below, you will find the video of Windermere High School Band Camp Escapades:
Below: Windermere High School Football First Practice Reaction: Windermere High School sophomore defensive back Seth Daniels talks about the Wolverines’ first official practice of their program during the first Fall.
Concerns of some of the parents whose children did not qualify to ride school bus (if living within 2 miles from Windermere High School) prior to the beginning of the semester were raised. Some of the parents in Independence subdivision have begun their own car pool. Sidewalks have also been put in place. Please also refer to our previous post regarding possible solutions to traffic situation at the new Windermere High School.
As things are more settled and acclimated, we wish all students, parents, principal, teachers, staff, and administrative personnel at Windermere High School a wonderful beginning and many many productive years here in Windermere, Florida.

More about the community at www.WindermereSun.com
I am a mother/wife/daughter, math professor, solar advocate, world traveler, yogi, artist, photographer, sharer of knowledge/information, and resident of Windermere, FL. I've worked professionally in applied math, engineering, medical research, and as a university math professor in IL and FL for about 20 years. My husband and I loved Disney and moved down to Central Florida initially as snowbirds. But we've come to love the warmth and friendly people offered by this community and decided to move down to Windermere, FL full time in 2006. I am now spending time sharing information/ knowledge online, promoting understanding of math and solar energy (via http://www.sunisthefuture.net ), and developing Windermere Sun (http://www.WindermereSun.com) as an online publication, sharing and promoting Community ABC's (Activities-Businesses-Collaborations) for healthier/happier/more sustainable living. In the following posts, I'll be sharing with you some of the reasons why Windermere has attracted us to become full-time residents of Central Florida region. Please feel free to leave your comments via email at "Contact Us" in the topbar above or via info.WindermereSun@gmail.com.
