Resolving Traffic Issue To/From New High School
Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of comments, concerns, complaints about the traffic situation near the new Windermere High School. Recalling our daughter growing up back in Illinois, many years ago, we had similar concerns at the high school. There were simply too many parents who wanted to drop their kids off at school. So, there were several measures being implemented:
- getting students who lived near school to buddy up with at least one other student in the same neighborhood to walk together to/from school
- getting students who lived close enough to school to bike with at least another student in the same/nearby neighborhood to bike to/from school together
- having multiple drop off/pick up locations to decrease the amount of congestion in one location (right in front of the school)
- making sure that there are enough crosswalks and sidewalks near school

This is still early enough in the school year to make recommendations (such as bike racks for bike parking, crosswalks and sidewalks, etc.) for implementation. Please remember that Thursday, August 10, 2017, will be a good day/time to visit Windermere High School, to pick up schedules, and to bring up your concerns and recommendations.
