Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
For those of you who have frequently driven by the roundabout at downtown Windermere, FL, did you notice this chart/graph at the roundabout, below? If you are as curious as I am, then I’ve just saved you the time of searching for the reason:
On Veterans Day, November 11, 2017, the Town of Windermere, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Windermere, will dedicate a permanent Veterans Memorial on the flag plaza in front of Town Hall. This installation recognizes the five branches (Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, and Army) of the U.S. Military and the Veterans past and present who serve with honor in protecting our freedom.
You are all invited to join in this special Town celebration by attending the dedication and assisting the project through tax deductible contributions. The names of donors or designees for amounts of $1,000 or more will be listed on a plaque installed as a part of the project. Contributions are now being accepted to the Veterans Memorial Project.
All Contributions can be made by check, made out to the Rotary Club of Windermere, with the Memorial Project noted. Either dropped off at the Windermere Police department, or mailed to: The Rotary Club of Windermere, P.O. Box 687, Windermere, FL 34786. WINDERMERE VETERANS’ PROJECT
Dear Friend,
A partnership between the Town of Windermere and the Rotary Club of Windermere is creating a Veterans’ Memorial around the flag plaza in front of Town Hall. Scheduled for installation on Veterans day 2017, this installation was inspired by the vision of `Mr. Bill Criswell, the creator of the iconic veterans “Home At Last Project”. The cooperative venture will erect six pedestals on the outer edge of the town flag plaza. Five will bear a bronze plaque recognizing one of the branches of our Military. The sixth pedestal presents the Great Seal of the United States with an inscription declaring our respect for the men and women who have served and are serving in our armed forces.
To complete this project will need to raise about $25,000. We ask that you consider helping fund this memorial through a tax deductible contribution. Contributors of $1000.00, $2000.00 or more, will have their names or those of their designee(s) recorded on permanent bronze plaque that will be part of the installation. All contributions are welcome. Major Project sponsors should contact us for information.
Are you a veteran? Do you have a business, parents, siblings, relatives or employees to whom you would like to show your appreciation for service and sacrifice? Take this opportunity to create a lasting declaration of appreciation to the men and women who protect our freedoms through your contribution.
The dedication of the Veterans’ Memorial will be during the Windermere Veterans’ Day celebration on November 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM. A day of recognition and celebration is planned. A 40 piece band, members of the Military, Guest speakers, Veterans past and present, food and entertainment… all will make up a day to remember. Please join us.
So, as you can see, there are many avenues to participate/contribute to this permanent memorial.
