Dragon boating is a fun and accessible sport for people of all ages who are reasonably fit, a team player, and enjoy being on the water. It’s a great cardio workout and good for all-around fitness. Race distances vary, with the standard race distance being 500 m. Sprints of 200 m are common at regattas, as is the 2,000 m race. Dragon boat events provide the ultimate team building platform that would boost morale and enhance sense of collaboration essential for work environment.
GWN Dragon Boat Walgreens SPACE COAST DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL is being presented by PEPSICO on April 8, 2017, at Cape Canaveral’s Banana River. This festival offers a fiercely competitive Sport Division and widely attended Community Division. Space Coast sees a variety of teams from the South as well as visiting paddlers fresh from spring training camps. Space Coast is highly recommended for established and entry-level teams looking to gain competitive experience. Racing distances include 200m and 500m events for Sport and Community Division teams, with he addition of the ever-thrilling 2k pursuit for Sport Division teams only.

Festival grounds offers something for every one. Spectators can enjoy watching the race from Manatee Sanctuary Park, at a perfect vantage point to follow the excitement of racing while learning about the sport of dragon boat. Another point of interest is the Walgreen Health and Wellness Village, where participants and spectators can receive products and services to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy games and activities offered at the Kids Zone. Paddlers will have space to relax with their teams in the Athletes’ Village.
