This is not the first time I’ve posted about our wonderful community dock at Lakes of Windermere. This past year I’ve seen a lot more people in the community utilizing this dock to fish and enjoy watching the sunsets. But few days ago when hubby and I strolled down the dock and noticed one slat of the fence or barrier on the dock was missing. The mystery detective in me started to investigate for the cause of this missing slat. Allow me to share some of the clues with you, below:
Those bike tire tread marks led me to conclude that: some over-zealous bicyclist got too excited at taking loops at the dock. At certain point of acceleration, the pressure on the slat was just a bit too much and caused one of the slats to fall. It could have been much worse. This cyclist could have fallen into the lake if the pressure was great enough. At this point, I would have to recommend all bicyclists to avoid the dock for it may be too tempting to take the lap, but the potential risk in running into people or fallen into the lake, with possibility of property damage, it is simply not worth it. Instead, how about checking out various bike trails here in Central Florida? You might be able to discover more interesting routes or even make some friends on the bike trails.
