Hubby and I have definitely acquired a taste for organic and farm to table type of restaurants, with fresh and seasonal ingredients that would give us a sense of being well nourished while remaining light on our feet, after an enjoyable meal. In today’s post, I’d like to recommend Seasons 52, at Plaza Venezia, 7700 W. Sand Lake Rd., Orlando, FL 32819, opening from 11:30 am-11:00 pm, 407-354-5212.
Seasons 52 is a fresh grill and wine bar developed in 2003. The brand concept is to deliver a sophisticated atmosphere,
seasonal menu, and offer fresh ingredients to deliver menu items that are naturally lighter. As of May 2015, there are 43 locations in the United States throughout 17 different states. The restaurant’s core menu changes four times a year with every season, and all the features on the right hand panel of the menu change every week, 52 times a year. George Miliotes, their master sommelier, specifically visits different vineyards in order to hand pick wines for 52 Seasons. The menu showcases over 100 different bottles of wine, 52 of which are available by the glass. For more detailed descriptions of Seasons 52 menu, please click HERE.
The atmosphere of Seasons 52 is cozy as a ski lodge, with high wooden beam ceiling and pleasant lighting. The place is almost fully packed on a week night, with clients ranging from family gatherings to business associates meeting. Our waitress is friendly and informative. The menu has great variety of choices, with grass-fed beef, chickens, seafoods, and salads, with fresh seasonal ingredients. My soup has a touch of smokiness from roasted shitaki mushrooms that I’ve not tasted from other restaurants, and sea bass has just the right level of tenderness, with unique texture from the black rice and micro wasabi. It’s a place with good energy, fresh and seasonal food, and experienced good chefs.
Upon further investigation, it’s come to my attention that the parent company of Seasons 52 is Darden Restaurants. Darden Restaurants, Inc. is an American multi-brand restaurant operator headquartered in Orlando. The firm owns seven casual dining restaurant chains: Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, The Capital Grille and Yard House. Until July 28, 2014, Darden also owned Red Lobster. Darden has more than 1,500 restaurant locations and more than 150,000 employees, making it the world’s largest full-service restaurant company. As of 2012, Darden is the only Fortune 500 company with its corporate headquarters in Greater Orlando.
Next time you’re in the mood for some fresh, nutritious meal for you or your family, consider checking out Seasons 52.
