As many of you are quite aware: regardless how many million- dollar ideas you have, it is necessary to have a supporting infrastructure in order to reach a successful result. Small businesses are most vulnerable during early years of development. U.S. Small Business Administration estimates that only 44% of small businesses continue to operate after four years. Business incubators have been established to help nurture companies during early years to provide additional support to accelerate successful development of startup via resources and services. This program provides help in three essential stages of development: 1. Pre-Incubation 2. Incubation 3. Soft Landing 4. Partnership 5. Excellence in Entrepreneurship Course
- Pre-Incubation: The program provides resources and coaching to help entrepreneurs to navigate through various challenges of turning a concept into a company. These services are available to research faculty, military veterans, and aspiring entrepreneurs with a patent, grant, or registered company.
- Business Incubation Program: The program helps new and struggling early stage businesses to develop into financially stable companies. Only scalable businesses are eligible to enroll in this program. Companies seeking to enroll in this program must demonstrate their growth potential through online application and completion of the Excellence in Entrepreneurship (EIE) Course.
- Soft Landing: This program helps international firms, as well as domestic companies headquartered outside the region to quickly adapt and connect to the Central Florida business community. Companies looking to open a U.S. subsidiary or division in Central Florida can take advantage of the Soft Landing Program’s suite of resources specifically to help expand companies’ transition into new business environment.
- Partnership: The UCF Business Incubator Program actively partners with wide range of local companies in major industries, providing business services, resources or expertise to client companies.
- Excellence in Entrepreneurship Course: The Excellence in Entrepreneurship (EIE) Course is a required component for the application process for the UCF Business Incubation Program. The EIE Course is offered on a quarterly basis and consists of eight sessions, twice per week for four weeks. This course would help to introduce entrepreneurs to resources and advisors with invaluable experience and support in laying the foundation for a successful company.
