Saturday, August 27, 2016 was a gorgeous sunny day for the pre-fundraising event at Allen’s Creamery & Coffeehouse at 523 Main Street, Windermere, FL. 321-228-5555, to raise money for premature babies cared for by Winnie Palmer Hospital.
Allen’s Creamery & CoffeeHouse is family owned and operated with the premise of giving back to their community. Allen’s Creamery & CoffeeHouse and the Ice Cream & Miracles fundraising event is sponsored by longtime residents and owners of the Allen Real Estate Team. All the staff at Allen’s creamery would like to extend a community challenge to come down to Allen’s Creamery & CoffeeHouse to form a Walk for Winnie Walking Team to participate in the Walk at SeaWorld Orlando on September 17, 2016. To find out more information about this, please contact: 321-228-5555. Through Walk For Winnie, there would be better funding for the care and treatment of the tiny/early babies. Every day, skilled physicians and nurses at the Alexander Center for Neonatology provide the highest level of lifesaving care for critically ill newborns, with one ultimate goal in mind: to help these babies to beat the odds and thrive. More than 1,600 babies are admitted into the Alexander Center for Neonatology each year and more than 40,000 babies have been successfully treated since the unit opened in 1975. Please consider supporting the tiny miracles born in the NICU every single day!
While I was researching about the Winnie Palmer Hospital and Alexander Center for Neonatology, I’ve come across an interesting pacifier born out of love and care of the NICU nurse of Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando, Harriet Miller, invented especially for preemie babies. These special preemie pacifiers are able to help:
- Babies to be calmer
- Babies’ heart rates to decrease
- Babies’ pain index to drop
- Babies’ oxygen saturation levels to increase
It takes community effort to have such great facility and caring staff here in Central Florida. If you would like to find out more about taking part in helping out with the upcoming Walk For Winnie on September 17, 2016, please feel free to contact: 321-228-5555 or CLICK HERE.
