When I saw the installation activity at the intersection of 535-Lake Sawyer Dr., I was wondering if there would be added new red light camera that I’ve been reading much about. So, I called up the Public Works of Orange County. The Chief Engineer Hazem El-Assar of Public Work of Orange County assured me that there is no red light camera being added. There is only the upgraded sensor and/or video detection unit that would help to improve the traffic flow efficiency. He also mentioned that the unit being replaced is probably around ten years old. Whether or not all traffic lights in Orange County will be upgraded to this more efficient model will depend much on the budget. Given our previous post on Alternate Access To Sunset Park Elementary School, a more efficient traffic light at 535-Lake Sawyer Dr. will surely be appreciated! Thank you, Orange County Public Works!.
