What Windermere Sun Can Do For You During First Meetup, September 29, 2016, at Windermere Library-Meeting Room
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
Have you ever heard or tried this site called Meetup ?
It’s a great way to connect and collaborate for your businesses, organizations, or for your personal interests.
I’ve been getting some questions from readers asking about how it works. So here it is:
It’s an online social networking portal that facilitates offline group meetings in various localities around the world. Meetup allows members to find and join groups unified by a common interest, such as politics, books, games, movies, health, pets, careers or hobbies. Meetup, Inc. is based in New York City. It was co-founded in 2002 by Scott Heiferman and Matt Meeker (also a founder of BarkBox). It was designed as a way for organizers to manage the many functions associated with in-person meetings and for individuals to find groups that fit their interests. Users enter their city or their postal code and tag the topic they want to meet about. The website/app helps them to locate a group to arrange a place and time to meet. Topic listings are also available for users who only enter a location. The service is free of charge to individuals who log in as members. They have the ability to join different groups as defined by the rules of the individual groups themselves. Meetup receives revenue by charging fees to organizers of groups. Currently US$9.99/month for their basic plan, which includes a maximum of 4 organizers and maximum of 50 members (per group). The unlimited pricing starts at US$14.99/month or six months for $90, which gives the organizer up to three groups and unlimited number of members. So, any time you attend any meetup, check to see if there is any admission charge and whether there is a difference between paying in advance or at the door. If there is no admission charge, then check to see if you may help to contribute a small amount.
After having attended several meetup groups as a member, observing interactions of different meetup groups in a variety of settings (from restaurants, cafes, to community centers or parks), I finally got up sufficient amount of courage to try to set up Meetup Groups for “Windermere Sun” or “Windermere Sun-Community Business/Organization Catalyst” as an organizer.
So, this is what I have prepared for you and/or any one in Central Florida area, below, at Meetup Group page for “Windermere Sun” or for “Windermere Sun-Community Business/Organization Catalyst“, as an invitation to our First Meetup!
I wonder which of the two images will more closely resemble our first meetup (on the left or on the right above ?). What is your guess?
Any one interested in community activities, businesses, collaborations for healthier, happier, more sustainable living (solar/renewable energy enthusiasts are strongly encouraged to attend!) in Windermere/Central Florida area will be welcomed. I am hoping to provide a platform for individuals, businesses, and organizations to network and collaborate. During Windermere Sun Meetups, every one is encouraged to bring and exchange business cards. Speakers will be invited periodically.
I’d also like to take the opportunity to invite every one to visit http://www.WindermereSun.com , an online publication promoting community ABC’s (activities, businesses, collaborations) for healthier, happier, more sustainable living. Information for: jobs & businesses opportunities, businesses loans & grants, health & beauty tips, entertainment & real estate, etc. are freely available at http://www.WindermereSun.com . Even though Windermere Sun was/is designed for Central Floridian residents, it has reached readers/viewers in more than 141 countries since inception. Be sure to share this online publication with your friends and family.

Thanks to those of you who have contributed suggestions for time, locations, and speakers. Much appreciated. Below is a summary of what we have so far, but do please check back periodically to confirm if there will be any change. Look forward to meeting each and every one of you in our first meetup!
Clarification: Both “Windermere Sun” and “Windermere Sun-Community Business/Organization Catalyst” will be meeting at the same date/time/location. Be sure to enter your membership/name under both groups to reap the benefit of both.
