Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
Here is another example of Central Floridians’ community response to the Orlando shooting a weekend ago: at FCIM (Florida College of Integrative Medicine, at 7100 Lake Ellenor Drive, Orlando, FL, 32809, 407-888-8689, on June 18, 2016, Saturday, between 11:00-15:00,
there were free clinic services to help veterans (by Orange County Veterans Service Program ) and residents of Central Florida to alleviate stress, anxiety, insomnia, and pain via
auricular therapy (aka ear acupuncture),
offered by Acupunturists Without Borders. Acupuncturists Without Borders began in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, healing community trauma with ear acupuncture, had served in many areas (such as: 2007-San Diego wildfires, 2008-Iowa floods, 2011-Bastrop fire-Joplin tornado-Tuscon shooting, 2012-CT shooting-Hurricane Sandy-CO fires & shooting, 2013-Moore OK-Boston bombing, 2014-AZ & WA wildfires-Oso, WA mudslide, 2015- CA wildfires, and 2016-Helicopter crash, Kaneohe, HI). Auricular therapy is a very natural way to heal the body by stimulating specific (5) acupressure points in the ear to reduce stress, pain, insomnia. Information about Acupuncturists Without Borders may be obtained from: Melanie Rubin (505-261-3214, melanie@acuwithoutborders.org)
With about twenty-five years of history in Orlando, Florida, FCIM now has over 150 students, servicing over 1000 patients at any point in time, and is the largest acupuncture college in state of Florida. FCIM periodically offers community free clinic to help residents in the Central Florida community. According to the clinic director Dr. Jacquline YT Cheng, in FCIM, various treatment methods are instructed, from acupuncture, herbal formula, food nutrition, life style modification, etc. wholistically/holistically. Dr. Cheng also mentioned that common symptoms associated with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) are: stress, anxiety, sadness, insomnia, and pain. If you are interested in becoming a student of integrative medicine, check out FCIM and inquire with Katie Mei (407-888-8689, ext. 15, Kmei@fcim.edu),
