Response To Orlando Tragedy: Outpouring of Love, Compassion, and Lack of Fear

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
I am devoting/sharing two posts (today’s & next Monday’s) this week to reflect on Orlando’s healing process from the two tragic incidents ( on Bumby and Orange Ave. of Orlando, FL) from last weekend.
Orlando, the happiest place on earth, has always been a place where the creatively warm hearted and open minded would gather to celebrate life. But it is when tragic events occur that we’d observe the true resiliency of people of Orlando, Florida, and USA. The outpouring of love and support for LGBT community is tremendous! I believe the correct response to tragic events such as these should be with love, compassion, freedom, and lack of fear. Let’s move the humanity forward rather than allowing further divisions amongst ourselves. Strength of Floridians and from people from all over the country and on planet earth have demonstrated in many forms. One of them is the speed at which a web site that had begun under the name of Equality Florida, www.eqfl.org , with its Facebook page, having already raised more than $2.4 million in just a few days for the victims and victims’ family members!
I’ve received an email and photo above (Orlando Vigil in front of the White House) from Dave O’Connor, the chapter president of UNA-Orlando, attending the UNA-USA Leadership Summit with 12 others from Orlando and 400 others from UNA chapters around the country. If you have a message you want delivered to your Senator or Representative, please email Dave O’Connor ( dvoconnor@gmail.com )or post it on the UNA-Orlando Facebook page.
