I was heading home on the 2000’s block of E. Colonial and came upon this refreshing looking sign for Mia Supermarket….it turned out to be a replacement for what used to be the Winn-Dixie location at 2415 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL. I bet the local residents must be pleased with this new arrival after Winn-Dixie was closed more than a year ago. According to the manager of Mia Supermarket Billy Chueh, the owner of Mia Supermarket Yin Qiu Lu hopes to open the supermarket in early June, 2016. “There are a lot of different communities in this area of town, from Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, to Hispanic, Philippines, and native Floridians, etc. We want to be able to serve every one.” Chueh commented. Whether you are an omnivore or vegetarian/vegan, you will be able to find something new and pleasing to your palate in this store. Among the grain products, many of the brands are organic. In addition to the usual supermarket products, Mia Supermarket will also carry Cantonese BBQ take-out and bakery in this 20,000 sq ft grocer.
Since Chueh intends on catering to the needs/desires of the local shoppers, it’s a good idea to let your wish be known via customerservice@miasupermarket.com, P: 407-228-9899, F: 407-228-9868, or stop by the store 2415 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, FL after its opening day in June (tentatively June 3), 2016. As for me, I strongly recommended that organic and non-GMO products from local farms be on the top of the priority list. What is it that you wish for in your supermarket? Let Manager Chueh know what you desire so we can all be easily served by this upcoming supermarket! They are also in the process of hiring help. Those with previous experience are especially welcomed.
