Shaping The Future of Health

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
What wonderful outlook for the future of our world of health! As our planet earth heads toward population 9.7 billion by 2050, with current only 20% of health outcomes being dependent on the health care sector, effective strategies to promote healthier population (moderated by Francis S. Collins, Director, National Institutes of Health, USA), are discussed by a panel of experts at Davos 2016 (World Economic Forum) :
- Olivier Brandicourt, Chief Executive Officer, Sanofi,
- Edith Schippers, Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport of the Netherlands
- Paul Bulcke, Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé, Switzerland
- Frans van Houten, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Royal Philips, Netherlands
- Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, Chief Executive Officer and President, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), USA
On the agenda:
– Designing healthy public policy
– Creating supportive environments to improve outcomes
– Reorienting health services to promote prevention
It seems to be in consensus that all panelists feel that it is important that preventative care/medicine will be an integrated effort on the local, community level. Much will be saved by having a more comprehensive preventative health care policy on local and regional level, emphasizing behavior modification, education, nutrition, and food. Individual responsibility and integrated effort are critical. Let’s hope Windermere Sun is/will be contributing to the equation for healthier future population.
