Hong Kong protest organizers have rejected Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s plan to “start the work to establish a platform for dialogue,” calling it a trap aimed at wasting time. Hong Kong protester Wong Lin-Sum called the offer “unnecessary.” in the video “Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam urges talks with protesters“, below:
Perhaps the Hong Kong business community leaders and Hong Kong legal community leaders would also care to consult with Hong Kong protest organizers before meeting with Carrie Lam and/or a special negotiator from the central government next time. They all need to sit down and talk to each other, perhaps over a beer, tea, or a banquet. They (Chinese government as well as the Hong Kong people) all have much to gain from a successful negotiation outcome. The world is watching them and hoping for a successful and peaceful negotiation outcome. Keep in mind that hope lies in the fact that we all believe that any one individual or governing body is capable of evolving.
