Do you remember our previous post back in Feb. of this year, “Peter Wang, Alaina Petty, and Martin Duque, Young Heros To Be Honored and Remembered“? Peter Wang, the fifteen year old kind, selfless soul who chose to hold the door open in order to save his fellow Marjory Stoneman Douglas students? Peter Wang had dream of joining the military, was a member of the school’s Junior ROTC (JROTC), and wanted to attend West Point military academy. He was wearing his gray JROTC shirt on Feb. 14, 2018, last seen holding a classroom door open in order for his fellow students to escape from the gun fire. On that fateful day, Peter Wang’s dream and plans were extinguished.
Surviving students were voicing their support for Peter to be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the nation. Kyle Kashuv, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas student, shared his support for honoring Peter Wang during the Thanksgiving weekend by launching a White House petition on Nov. 22, 2018. At the moment, 84,911 signatures had been obtained. 15,089 signatures are still needed by December 22, 2018 in order to reach the goal of 100,000 signatures in order to implore President Trump to award Peter Wang with Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In order to honor this Parkland Shooting Hero and Victim, Peter Wang, who died saving others, with Presidential Medal of Freedom, please visit and sign this petition at “Award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Parkland Shooting HERO and victim, Peter Wang, who died saving others” petition.
Kyle Kashuv (born May 20, 2001)[1] is a survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, and activist. He has met with President Donald Trump, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and other politicians. Following the shooting, Kashuv received media coverage for his views on gun rights, prompted by two former White House aides and a conservative blogger who urged him to promote his message.[2][3]
