Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
Recently I came across a rather significant documentary and feel the need to shed some lights on certain potential problems that may be associated with over-privatization. Personally I am in favor of privatization in many industries: cell phones, grocery stores, entertainments, etc. But I also feel that certain industries should be publicly run: prisons, roadways, EPA, and water resources, etc.
One perfect example may be seen in “Water & Power: a California Heist“, a documentary in 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film shows the outcome of privatization of water in California. Meet Marina Zenovich, Director of this documentary, below:
At the end of this documentary, these sobering facts are presented to us:
- Over one million California residents are currently without access to clean, drinkable water.
- In less than ten years, two-thirds of the world’s population could be living under water stressed conditions.
- 1.8 billion people could face absolute water scarcity on planet earth.
It is time to raise the issue and discuss the future of our water resources and prevent privatization from occurring in your area.
