A Natural Farm & Educational Center With Luc & Sonia Duytsche

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

(Please click on red links & note magenta)
As a result of our previous post on Farming, Any One? I’ve been getting lots of messages about information on agriculture and farming. It’s been brought to my attention that a Natural Farm & Educational Center, founded in 2012 by Luc & Sonia Duytsche, located in Howey-in-the-Hills (23630 Florida 19, Howey-in-the-Hills, FL 34737, 352-536-3112, Mon-Sat: 10am-5pm, unless closing due to plant festivals), is a family owned and operated farm specializing in chemical free agriculture. The main focus of the farm is the production and selling of edible plants,
fruit trees, fresh ginger roots, blueberries & blackberries.
This 100% chemical free approach to grow healthy and poison-free plants means no artificial fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides are ever used on the farm. Worm castings, composted turkey, and horse manures, biological insecticides, and fungicides (such as neem oil) are utilized. The other mission of the farm is to offer free or low-cost educational classes for adults and children on sustainable farming, gardening, and plant production through hands-on workshop.
Luc Duytsche, originally from France, with degrees and training in horticulture and business, has 20+ years of experience in U.S. perfecting natural and chemical free gardening in Florida. Since 1994 Luc has worked for several plant nurseries before opening his own farm and educational center. If you have problem with pests, weeds, or want to learn how to grow sustainably without the use of synthetic solutions, check out this natural farm for some instruction. Now that more and more people are concerned with where their food is coming from and questioning how it is grown, a naturalistic approach that cooperates with nature is needed to build a thriving and sustainable food production. So, whether you are looking to start a healthy and cost-saving garden or a large agriculture operation trying to regulate growing practices, a natural farm may just be the place for you to ask questions.
For a list of upcoming events and activities, please click HERE. There will be a free hands-on workshop on “How to grow cold hardy Avocados and Yerba Tea organically in your backyard” on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 10:30 am., a the nursery(23630 SR19 in Howey in the Hills).
Instructions on how to select the right trees for your garden amongst 10 varieties of black and green avocados, how to plant, water, feed, and prune your trees, how to grow, harvest, and turn yerba mate leaves into tea.
On March 12 & 13, 2016, there will be festivals at Ocala, Master Gardeners Plant Sale at the Marion County Livestock Pavilion. At Orlando, there will be Leu Gardens Annual Plant Sale.
