Gazing at Sunset For Inner Peace

I came across a wonderful piece of advice from Dalai Lama the other day: Do Not Let The Behavior of Others Destroy Your Inner Peace.
Over the years, whenever I have not had the opportunity to watch the sunrises and/or sunsets nor exposed to sunlight for extended period of time (a likely scenario for many modern human, with expected work schedules and modern conveniences of controlled indoor environment), inevitably, I
would not feel quite right…as though something is missing. Is it the same for you?
Actually, considering the fact that sunlight is the basic nutrient of all life forms on earth, it should not surprise me/us that I/we’d have this kind of reaction. So whenever I’d feel a bit off, I would try to find time to spend few minutes gazing at the sunrise and/or sunset. Since within 30-40 minutes after the sunrise or before the sunset, the UV index is usually between 0-1. Therefore such practice would not be damaging to my eyes ( I’d keep in mind not to gaze at the sun during solar eclipse).
As a matter of fact, if I simply try gazing at the sunrise or sunset for a minute on the first day, then two minutes on the second day, and increase 30 seconds to a minute day after day until I reach 45 minutes and no more, I’d find my vision improved, need of caloric intake decreased, and at much more optimal state in solving all kinds of problems.
The first time I put myself through the experiment of gazing at sunset: after a month of the gazing, I took myself off of this practice, thinking all of the improvements may not be directly due to sun gazing. Within three days afterward, my vision deteriorated, my need of caloric intake increased, and I was no longer as good or fast in solving various problems. So, whenever I have the time, now a days I try to get a few minutes of my daily dosage of sunrise or sunset.
It is a pleasure to take this daily supplement, for Central Florida is endowed with such breathtaking sunrises/sunsets. After years of such practice, I find it easier and easier to take Dalai Lama’s advice in “Do Not Let The Behavior of Others Destroy Your Inner Peace“. I wonder: if all earthlings will be able to get his/her daily dosage of sunshine/sunset/ sunrise, will we
all be able to share our inner peace on earth by sharing our sunshine/sunset/sunrise?
Please keep in mind that I am not a medical professional and am simply trying to share my personal experience here.

Perhaps man/woman cannot live on supplement alone?! But I can attest to the fact that gazing at the sunset/sunrise routinely is quite conducive for a peaceful mindset.
