Let’s Consider Alternative Paths
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
The Windermere Police Officer Robert German Homicide Report is released from the Town of Windermere this week. For those of you who were not aware of the incident:
On March 22nd, 2014 The Town of Windermere Family lost a son, a brother, and a hero when Officer Robert German was killed in the line of duty. The entire community came together during this tragic time and truly demonstrated why the Town of Windermere is such a great place to work, live, and raise a family. From the various memorials, blue ribbon campaigns, and outpouring of support, the Town came together and honored our fallen hero. Although this report will bring closure to this criminal case, our memories of Officer Robert “Robbie” German and support for his family will survive.
The Town of Windermere and Windermere Police Department would like to thank the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for their diligent investigation and immediate support following this incident. In addition, our gratitude and praise go out to those Officers and Deputies that not only assisted that tragic night, but all of those that put on a uniform and risk their lives on a daily basis.
We would respectfully request that Officer German’s family’s privacy be maintained.
To prevent unfortunate incident such as this from occurring in the future, let’s try to approach all things with a peaceful state of mind and remind ourselves that in life, there are always many alternative routes. Regardless which path each and every one of us is taking, regardless which age group each of us is in, there are many potential paths for our journeys. Let’s help ourselves and those around us to visualize all potential paths and decide on choosing the least harmful one for all involved. Finally, in light of the lives lost, I am thankful that our nation is on the path in legalizing marijuana (even though I personally do not use any marijuana or caffeinated food/beverages). These lives could have all been saved if Brandon Goode had, in his possession, the legal marijuana rather than the illegal marijuana in the first place.
